The Role & Team
Staying Close is a project that seeks to improve the lives of looked after young people when they’re moving into independence. The support workers role will be to provide practical and emotional support according to their specific needs. Typically, service users include vulnerable children and young adults, young offenders, and those suffering with alcohol and substance miss use or mental health issues. The service users will have historic evidence of not being able to live independently either physically or mentally.
Your Responsibilities
The main aim of the support worker is to help service users learn to live as independently as possible, by identifying and supporting them in their areas of need. Thereby enabling them to have the skills to live independently. They may work with service users who have short term support needs or those with longer term or lifelong difficulties. The level of support given to the service users will vary depending on the specifications of their needs, there will be clear plans of support which will be produced by all professionals involved. The support will be based within semi-independence flats, outreach in young people homes, care homes, community and at organised drop in session.
This role is a front line role.

The Virtual School for Children Looked After has 3 vacancies for Inclusion Officer posts.
The Virtual School provides educational advocacy and support for all children looked after by North East Lincolnshire Council whether living in and attending a school within the local authority or for those placed out of area. The focus of our statutory duty is to improve educational outcomes through creating and reviewing Personal Education Plans (PEPs). The team works very closely with schools, colleges and specialist education settings to ensure that children looked after:

About Us

The role includes
As Team Manager, you will be responsible for a team of qualified social workers and family support workers, undertaking all elements of supervision and management for this team.
You are responsible for the allocation of cases amongst your staff group ensuring equity depending on competence, capacity, risk and the individual circumstances of workers. This includes working with peer colleagues to monitor and manage capacity across the service and moving resources as required.
You will be providing proactive and rigorous case supervision of all cases held in the team, ensuring cases are managed in line with performance and professional standards and provide the highest levels of safeguarding for vulnerable children, young people and their families.
You will support the delivery of a robust and professional student placement programme and ASYE programme for newly qualified staff.
You will be instrumental in ensuring we deliver a working environment and culture that is positive, supportive and motivates and develops all members of the team so they can deliver best practice.
You will be working within a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency context and will be expected to build strong relationships with other agencies and services involved with children and families to ensure a child-centred approach.

As a Social Worker in North East Lincolnshire’s Children’s Services, you will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality social work practice; ensuring the children’s service listens to the families and enables them to be involved in the decisions that affect their lives.

As a Level 1 Social Worker you will manage a caseload that is appropriate to your level of qualification and experience which could include the assessment, planning, implementation and review of social work plans.
You will be working directly with children, young people and their families and carers, taking into account their wishes and feelings and promoting child and family resilience, with the goal of reducing dependence on services.
You will be supported by a Team Manager in tasks such as preparing submissions and representing Children’s Services to Family Courts, taking actions in relation to the liberty or safety of children and liaising with other agencies in emergency situations.
You will be expected to prepare and keep accurate records and case notes and ensure cases are closed promptly and effectively when appropriate to do so, under the direction of management.
Partnership working is essential and as a service we endorse this model, so you will need to build good relationships with other services and agencies and work with them, where appropriate, in a child-centred approach.
North East Lincolnshire is keen to engage with dedicated and committed Senior Social Work Practitioners for our Children’s Services.
The role requires managing a caseload of the most complex and contentious cases where your expertise, skills and in-depth knowledge are required.
You will manage a group of family support workers and also be responsible for their supervision and professional development. As such, this is an ideal opportunity to gain supervisory experience for those wanting to progress into management positions.
You will be working alongside social worker teams within a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary context as part of our delivery of child-centred care.
We are a small team, and it is essential that we get the right person for this role, so although relevant experience and qualifications are a given, the right attitude is a must.
As a Senior Practitioner you will manage a caseload of the most complex and contentious of cases which could include the assessment, planning, implementation of Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children Plans.
You will have direct line management of a group of family support workers and will be responsible for their professional development, monitoring and formal supervision. As part of this you will contribute to training and be proactive in reviewing systems and developing best practice.
You will be working alongside social worker teams and within a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency context and will be expected to build strong relationships with other agencies and services involved with children and families to ensure a child-centred approach.
The role requires a recognised social work qualification and relevant post-qualification experience and knowledge, including experience of complex case management.
We are looking to recruit Level 2 Social Workers into our Children’s Services teams. With opportunities across different services, you will independently manage caseloads working directly with children, young people and their families/carers.
You will be joining a dynamic and supportive service with fantastic training and career development opportunities where you will be supported by Team Managers and a committed Leadership team.
We have invested in our training and development programmes, giving passionate and committed individuals a range of career opportunities and the tools to further enhance their practice.
As a Level 2 Social Worker you will independently manage a caseload with some complex casework which will include the assessment, planning, implementation and review of social work plans.
You will be supervised by an Assistant Team Manager and Team Manager and work closely with them to establish objectives. Partnership working is essential and as a service we endorse this model, so you will need to build good relationships with other services and agencies and work with them, where appropriate, in a child-centred approach.
When working with team members with less experience, you will provide advice, guidance and mentoring support with case management and decisions and on their professional development.
