About the Role
As a Screening Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering national health programmes within local schools, focusing on growth monitoring, vision, and hearing screenings.
Working both independently and as part of a team, you will provide advice and support to children and families, ensuring they can access the care and guidance they need. The role includes engaging with schools and community settings, facilitating group discussions, and supporting health education initiatives.
You will be required to travel across the region to visit schools and other community spaces, making access to a suitable vehicle essential. Your work will follow established policies and protocols to ensure screenings are carried out safely and effectively.
About You
You have experience working with children and families, either in educational or community settings, and understand the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles. You are confident in delivering health advice and engaging with young people, both in one-to-one interactions and group settings. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with professionals across different agencies are key to success in this role.
Your enthusiasm for public health means you are eager to contribute to national initiatives that support children's wellbeing. Training will be provided, but a willingness to learn and adapt is essential.

NELC's Street Cleansing Service, operates a busy and efficient operation with a team of 30+ split over two shifts working, 4 days on and 4 days off, equating to a 42hr week (Annual salary enhanced to reflect 42 hr week)
Your Role
As part of the Street Cleansing team, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of adopted highways and rivers within the borough. Full training shall be provided on a variety of vehicles to undertake the task, a full UK driving licence is essential for the role.
We are looking for a fit agile person who can work alone when required or as part of a larger team, representing the authority as an ambassador, ensuring you present yourself in a polite and courteous manner to members of the public area ,to provide what type of person we are looking for i.e. the core competencies – example below – do not list the job tasks.
We are looking for decision makers who are self-motivated and have excellent planning and organising, investigation, inspection, advisory, statistical and enforcement skills.
Able to manage effective relationships, the ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal effectiveness particularly regarding reading situations in which they may find themselves where a clear, consistent judgement of that situation will be required. This will be underpinned by effective legal, technical and knowledge of good practice to play an active role in compliance within the Authority procedures.
